The Washington State University Extension offers a Low Impact Development Certificate program to train civil engineers and landscape architects in low impact development. Certification requires attending four two-day workshops covering bioretention; permeable pavement; site design, permitting, and construction; and green roofs and rainwater harvesting. In addition to the workshops, applicants must pass five different online tests (one for each workshop plus one final).
